September Extra Blog Post
This Month in the life of Vince I encountered my very first cake order with my mentor!!! We got the order to make a minion cake for an up and coming two year old. Getting to make this cake was so incredibly fun it took tons of work but it was great when we finished the face of the little boy was priceless just know the customer completely loved the product you spent hours trying to recreate what they had envisioned in their head is worth any payment. Having this opportunity gave me tons of background information I wouldn't have understood unless I had the hands on approach on it. I am truly grateful for such incredible mentors. Attached below is a picture of the cake for Nathaniel's 2nd Birthday.

- What type of problems did you encounter as a out and coming Cake Decorator?
- Besides growing up with inspiration from family what or who drove you to be where you are right now?
- How have other people in your field impact your work?
- At any time did you have any doubt that this wasn't for you?
- If you didn't grow up in the household with a line of bakers do you think you'd be where you are at right now?

Blog 5 - Mentorship Reflecion
1. Finding a mentor was one of the most hectic and crazy stressful thing i have ever been put under and I'm a senior at Ipoly but out of all the crazy things I've done the past three years is nothing compared to this year so far! At the beginning of summer i was sure i was going to have a mentor at this cupcake place down the street from my house but come to find they didn't let me so the search was on! i went everywhere called everywhere in the inland empire area but zip! So at this time I wanted to begin sobbing and curl up in a corner with a tub of ice cream and watch Netflix and totally forget about the world. BUT i am a ipolian and clearly that's not how we deal with things so I got back on the search bus to find a mentor and I came across yelp and it gave me a list of bakeries in my area (which I had already contacted) but for some odd reason i found this one tag that I had totally missed Darlas Cake Design in Chino Hills I called and spoke to the co owner who said to send her the paper that explained the project and she would get back to me and sure enough after a weekend and two days later they called me saying they would be more than happy to help me and that ladies and gentleman is how i found my mentor (BTW they are AMAZING).
2. The Most important article I've read so far is "How To Open Your Own Bakery"- By the Business Inquiry. When i came across it i thought it would be interesting giving the idea of always wanting to open my own bakery when I started to read the article and I began to get all this info on what to do and what not to do and how a business should run effectively.
